Presidents Bio

My name is Michael Mancari, President of M.M.G. Fire Equipment. Thank you for visiting our site and choosing us to provide your fire extinguisher, emergency lighting, fire cabinets, training and other safety services. With my extensive background and experience in emergency services, fire safety, and fire code enforcement, I am confident that we can provide the best quality service and protection for you and your business, home, or facility.

About Me

I grew up in Poughkeepsie and have been involved in the emergency services since the age of 16. In 10th grade, I became an active member of the Arlington Fire District at the Croft Corners Fire Company as a volunteer firefighter. This is where my true passion for helping others began. After high school, I was fortunate enough to be in the first class of the Fire Science Program at Dutchess Community College. During this time of obtaining my degree, I also worked for two local ambulance companies as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). I continued to volunteer at Croft Corners and worked my way up to Company Captain.

After obtaining my Fire Science degree, I worked at IBM Poughkeepsie as an industrial firefighter. This began my trainings in the various avenues of advanced firefighting, such as hazardous materials technicians, building fire inspections, rope rescue and technical rescue. From there, I went on to work as a federal firefighter for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at Castle Point, NY for the Castle Point Fire Department. Besides all of my firefighting duties, I was also responsible for building fire inspections and working with the Joint Commission to ensure safety.

I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to work for the United States Department of Defense at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY for the West Point Fire Department. My duties included firefighting, hazardous materials, technical rescue, helicopter rescue operations, and Presidential detail.

Over the years of my service, I have also obtained numerous certifications, both at the New York State and National levels. I am a New York State and Nationally certified fire instructor. I am also a New York State Code Enforcement Official and proud member of the local Mid-Hudson Valley chapter of New York State Building Officials Conference (NYSBOC).

I strive to continue learning and helping others to develop their passions as well. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Emergency Management from SUNY Empire. I am an American Heart Association First Aid and CPR instructor and have taught classes as an adjunct professor for a local college in the Fire Science Program.

Why did you start the company?

With my experience as a firefighter and building inspector, I have seen many places that are not up to snuff in terms of meeting their safety needs. I wanted to continue serving the public because I have seen that many of the current providers are not performing up to the standards. Ensuring the safety of the community is my top priority.
